January 18, 2017
Congratulations to everyone in the Lower Mainland for making it to the top!

Because of a film-friendly culture, which includes supportive provincial government programs administered by Creative BC, incredible production and post facilities, dynamic talent and innovators of all kinds, Vancouver is recognized as being the best of the bunch!

The City of Vancouver combines resources with 22 other municipalities, meaning that Metro Vancouver alone has over 2.5 million square feet of studio space. It is uniquely positioned to support over 100 studios and 50 productions at any time and the collective labour force province-wide is 40,000 and growing.

BC is also a global leader in digital production and processing with over 60 VFX and animation studios. The province’s talent, crew, diversity of locations, facilities and educational programs create just the right environment for projects of all sizes. The large number of film festivals and other resources also help to fund and support moviemakers.

Aided by BC’s temperate climate, our reputation as a safe place, plenty of amenities and access to nature, Vancouver is indeed a very attractive community to live and work in!
