Over the course of the day the forum aims to educate, inspire, and give practical tips and examples from local and international practitioners to foster sustainable production that can be incorporated into any film production.

Chris Carter, who is receiving the VIFF 2016 Industry Builder Award for the sustainable production of The X-Files, will open the day with a keynote speech addressing the importance of sustainable production and possibilities for the future.

Creative BC is at the helm for exciting morning sessions at the Forum which will include insights from sustainability executives from Hollywood studios such as Warner Brothers, 20th Century Fox, and NBC Universal. Facilitated discussions with leaders from the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) and the World Bank’s Connect4Climate group will also take place.  Creative BC will kick-off the afternoon with an update of their Reel Green initiatives and will facilitate a discussion on practical approaches to sustainable production.

The Sustainable Production Forum is a free event and registration is required.

Tickets for the VIFF Industry Builder Award are available for purchase on the Greater Vancouver Board of Trade website.
