Producers’ Association Partners with Government and Industry to Offer Training in Screen-based Content Production
May 27, 2014
The Canadian Media Production Association (CMPA) is pleased to announce the launch of the 2014-15 edition of the Screen-based Media Production Program.

This hands-on training program will offer thirty emerging producers under the age of 31 the opportunity to gain long term full-time work experience in the film, television and digital media production industry. Funded by the Government of Canada’s Youth Employment Strategy, the Screen-based Media Production Program emphasizes both management and technical skills in today’s rapidly changing knowledge economy in the digital world.

“It has been proven time and time again that on-the-job mentorship placements are the best way to provide a full, immersive training experience,” says Susanne Vaas, VP of Business Affairs and Secretary Designate, CMPA. “Participating in this program unquestionably kick-starts emerging content producers’ careers in the business.”

The CMPA is currently accepting applications until September 15, 2014 or until funding remains available. For application details and eligibility, visit www.cmpa.ca/mentorship.
