Bringing British Columbia’s music industry to the world of film at the WFF Music Café
November 21, 2014

New for 2014, the Whistler Film Festival (WFF), in partnership with Music BC, has added the WFF Music Café.  This unique event will showcase the talents of five BC musicians and songwriters to music supervisors from LA and Vancouver who are looking for their next big discovery as well as to film producers looking for music for their next project.

The WFF Music Café will help promote British Columbia’s music industry and talented BC artists to more than 350 filmmakers in attendance and hopefully lead to their music and songs being placed in feature films, TV series, commercials, documentaries and other filmed media.

“This type of event is ideal for Creative BC to support because it helps foster collaboration between music and film and also promotes awareness of the strong creative talent that exists in BC,” said Richard Brownsey, President and CEO of Creative BC.

Each of the five selected artists -  WiL, Chersea, Zaac Pick, Rococode and HUMANS - will play a live 30 minute set on December 6 from 1:00 – 5:00 pm at Garfinkels in Whistler, BC.  Even if you can’t make it the festival, we’ve put together a sampling of their music below, including the catchy song Make Make from WiL, which was nominated for best Canadian song of the year by CBC’s Music Awards.
