Hot on the reels of last year’s success, the 2nd Annual Canadian Young Artist Film Festival will take place on Saturday September 21, 2013 at the Capilano University Bosa Theatre in Vancouver at 3pm. Film submission deadline is August 15, 2013. Festival tickets can be purchased at the door for $10 each or can be pre-purchased online. There are a limited number of seats available at the Bosa Theatre so early purchase is recommended.

CYAFF provides an opportunity to celebrate the very best in young Canadian Screen talent. The festival works in conjunction with acting schools, TV channels, film production companies and others across the country as they seek to identify and provide a platform for the very best in Canadian screen and acting talent, from ages 0-19, to show the world what they are capable of.
This year’s MC is Julian LeBlanc (Television & Film Actor, Host of the 2011 LEO Awards, Graduate of & Teacher at the Canadian College of Performing Arts). The festival’s panel of judges includes the following notable industry talent: Kirsten Clarkson (Co- Founder and Artistic Director at Shoreline Actors Academy); Michael Bean (Founder & Principal Coach at Biz Studio); Beatrice King (Television & Film Actress); Kailey Spear & Sam Spear (BlackSpear Productions).
Anyone can submit a movie for the cost of $25. To be eligible for inclusion, the movie must contain a lead or supporting role performed by a Canadian actor 19 years old or younger during filming.

Films produced in 2012 and 2013 are eligible:

Short Film
Short Documentary
Animated Short
Experimental Short
Sci-Fi Short

Projects can also be submitted if Produced or Directed by Young Canadian Talent 19 years of age and under as well. All submissions must be 30 minutes or less running time. Detailed submission guidelines and submission form available here:


In addition, the following sponsorship opportunities are available for acting schools and other interested individuals and organizations. Any donations to help sponsor the festival are appreciated and will be noted in the list of contributors on-screen at the end of the festival.

For $25 we will offer:
·      A business card size advert in the official festival brochure

For $150 we will offer:
·       Full color ¼ page advert in the official festival brochure
·      Listing in supporters of the festival (on screen and in brochure)
·      Listing on the official Facebook page/website for the festival

For an additional $50 we will also:
·      Make personal mention at the reception
·      And   have your logo on the big screen during the screening

CYAFF is also asking Canadian actors who are enjoying successful careers, for their support in becoming Ambassadors for the festival by using their social media platforms and personal networks to raise the profile and prestige of this event.
