This year’s esteemed jury, producer David Miller (Siddharth), actor/producer Ali Liebert (Afterparty) and award winning director Ingrid Veninger (The Animal Project) grappled with five diverse and compelling story pitches.

Said Veninger, “We are awarding the MPPIA prize to a story that is part thriller, part psychological study and part love story…an original and visually epic tale of past colliding with present and future…congratulations to Nick Citton.”

The MPPIA Short Film Award winner receives a $15,000 cash award plus in-kind production support services worth up to $100,000 for his/her short film project to be completed within one year after receiving the Award. The completed project will premiere at the 2014 Whistler Film Festival.

Now in its seventh cycle, the MPPIA Short Film Award provides one filmmaker with an opportunity to further develop his/her directing career by realizing a unique creative vision. The Award was founded to recognize and celebrate the contribution of film and television to the Province of British Columbia.
