The two-day On the Road Touring & Training workshop is geared to aspiring emerging artists, agents and managers interested in enhancing their knowledge about touring. Emerging artists are those ages 18 to 34 years of age who have mastered the basic techniques of their art form through education or apprenticeship, and are in the early stage of launching a professional career.

Experienced, creative professionals from different disciplines will deliver a curriculum that examines how performing for young audiences differs from performing for adult audiences. The workshop also features panels and specific sessions by accomplished artists, agents and presenters on topics such as  marketing, tour planning and prep, selling your show, funding and more.

Sessions Topics

  • Pre-tour planning and prep
  • Touring to different markets
  • Tour finances, funding and management
  • Applying to showcase, attending Contact/Industry Events
  • Negotiating with presenters; performance fees
  • Marketing, engaging audiences and more

There are a limited number of travel subsidies for those who qualify.
