Frazey Ford is a boldly sincere singer who exudes equal parts soul, Americana, and alt-country. She is admirably supported by her band comprised of A-list Vancouver musicians Darren Parris, Craig McCaul, Leon Power, and Caroline Ballhorn, who Frazey refers to collectively as The Quiet Revolution. It was as a member of the well-loved alt-folk band The Be Good Tanyas where the Kootenay/Vancouver-raised, East Van-based singer songwriter’s musical calling began. Frazey’s career continues to grow both in Canada and abroad, manifesting today with a half dozen critically acclaimed albums. The scathingly soulful and brutally honest stand-up-for-yourself anthem, Done, produced a video now nearing one million YouTube views.
With the momentum of her two solo albums—2010’s Obadiah and 2014’s Indian Ocean—Frazey returned to Afterlife Studios in January 2017 to record her third outing. Working alongside her longtime co-producer John Raham (We Are The City, Soujouners, Destroyer), a familiar face from past projects, her next album showcases the best of the best of international and Vancouver talent.
Creative BC is proud to support Frazey Ford and The Quiet Revolution as part of the BC Music Fund’s Sound Recording Program.
