Get up to $10,000 to #hireaBCstudent with BCIC ISI grants

Jul 4, 2018

Could your tech startup or company benefit from the education, skills and enthusiasm of a post-secondary student?

Apply for up to $10,000 in grants with the BCIC Innovator Skills Initiative (ISI) program.

How do the grants work?
BCIC ISI grants are open to BC-based tech companies or startups hiring post-secondary students for a business or tech role.

Businesses can apply for up to two grants per year (from May 2018 – April 2019). Each grant can cover up to half of a student’s salary – matched in full by the company – for up to $5000.

Why apply?

It’s an opportunity to give back – while moving your business forward. Beyond helping your tech company grow in BC, the BCIC ISI program offers you the chance to inspire the next generation of entrepreneurs.

In the past, many program participants have gone on to be hired on permanently or develop an interest in starting their own business.

Who’s eligible?

Companies: Any BC-based tech startup or company (no limit on size).

Students: They must NOT be co-op (for co-ops, check out check out BCIC’s BC Tech Co-op Grants Program). Students must be enrolled at an accredited BC post-secondary institution (think BCIT, UVIC, SFU, UNBC, and VCC – just  to name a few).

Ready to apply?

Great! Applications open June 4, 2018. Get all the details and start your application.
