Popera quartet, Vivace, recorded and just released their 6-song EP, Diamonds, featuring a collection of pop covers re-imagined ("Beautiful Day," "Dream On," "Diamonds," "Mad World,"), as well as songs in the classical genre ("Ave Maria" and "Caruso").
Vivace's music brings together a new crossover sound that bridges the gap between pop and classical genres. Vivace is comprised of sopranos Tiffany Desrosiers and Taylor Pardell, both living in Vancouver; tenor Joel Ros out of Pittsburg; and baritone Gabriel Macdonald in Victoria. The group started collaborating in 2010 after a performance at the Vancouver Olympic Games, touring extensively across Canada and the US ever since.
Their new EP was produced by Xander Miller with engineering by Matt Di Pomponio at Echoplant Recording Studios in Coquitlam. Vocal and string arrangements were written by Roy Tan and performed by Black Dog String Quartet, with mastering by CPS Mastering.
Vivace has just launched their new website and will be releasing a new video for the song "Beautiful Day" in the coming weeks.
