#MyMerch campaign aims to ease mounting pressure on artists by ending cuts from merchandise sales
Canada’s Featured Artists Coalition (FAC) and Union of Musicians and Allied Workers (UMAW) have launched a North American campaign aimed specifically at venues, festivals, and presenters.
The #MyMerch campaign calls attention to the practice of these organizations taking cuts from merchandise sales from artists at their performances, and advocates how – in the current climate of continued COVID-19 recovery, coupled with inflation and other pressures – this practice is no longer equitable or sustainable.
The #MyMerch campaign invites North American organizations to publicly pledge to not take merchandise cuts from the artists they showcase.
