  • COVID-19 capacity limits lifting as two-dose vaccine requirements begin

    On Sunday, Oct. 24, 2021, full vaccination for everyone born in 2009 or earlier (12+) and presentation of your BC Vaccine Card will be required to access certain events, services and businesses.

    On Monday, Oct. 25, more people will be able to come together at organized gatherings and events in parts of the province where vaccination rates are high. The provincial health officer order restricting capacity limits to 50% for inside organized events and gatherings will be revised to allow 100% capacity in those settings where the BC Vaccine Card is in place and proof of vaccination status is checked.
  • Route 97 Culture Celebrates New Initiatives To Improve Live Music Infrastructure In The BC Interior

    Route 97 Culture announces the success of their initiative to establish new and unique live music venues and promoter relationships across the BC interior. The goal of this initiative was to forge alliances with commercial partners (wineries, breweries, organic farms), academic institutions (colleges and universities), Indigenous organizations, tourism partners, arts councils and other pre-existing venue partners – in order to bring young emerging and established artists to the region.
  • Amplify BC Program Dates and Deadlines Announced

    On April 13, 2021, the B.C. government announced a renewed investment for Amplify BC to support the recovery and growth of B.C.’s music industry.

    People and companies in B.C.’s music industry can plan for the future with $22.5 million dedicated to the sector over the next three years. Creative BC will continue to adapt Amplify BC’s programs each year to meet the changing needs of the music industry as part of B.C.’s economic recovery. Read the full press release.

    Amplify BC programs will deliver funding through four streams serving B.C. artists, live music presenters, music companies and the development of the music industry.

    The B.C. government established Amplify BC in 2018 and continues to launch programs each year after extensive consultations with the music industry. Creative BC also has established partnerships with Music BC and the First Peoples’ Cultural Council to support the development of B.C.’s music industry.
