Part of the KWANTLEN POLYTECHNIC UNIVERSITY – Life-long Learning – TALK series
Creative BC location consultant Seán Hernández will present this seminar via Zoom
Description: We see film crews in our neighbourhoods and we recognize familiar BC locations on screen in movies and television. But how does all this happen? How do film companies choose the properties in which they film? How did BC become home to over $3 Billion in annual production spending and more than 170 productions each year? Join us as we explore the fascinating world where art meets industry and see how it impacts our provincial and local economies. We will follow a production company as they scout locations, make their final choices, prepare/shoot/wrap in a neighbourhood and explore what happens after the filming is all done.
Topics: location scouting / neighbourhood filming / economic impacts / tax credits
