Co-created by Tsatsu Stalqayu, Mortal Coil and Butterflies in Spirit, Xweýene:msta:m ?əkwəsqwel, seýeḿ (translation: call to witness / listen to respected one) is a performance to honour Orange Shirt Day on Thursday, September 30, 2021, presented by the Vancouver Art Gallery.

Creative BC is taking this day to observe the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. The organization shares a commitment  to Truth and Reconciliation, with an intention to recognize and commemorate the tragic and ongoing  legacy of residential schools so it is never forgotten.
Our team at Creative BC has been given this time for participation in relevant and supporting community events, to learn and listen, and as a quiet day of reflection.
By establishing a purposeful annual statutory holiday, we want to embed Reconciliation and accountability for change as a foundational principle in all spheres of our influence.

We would like to point to a respectful resource page published by Music BC for events and deeper learning, and DigiBC offers 100 seats to their creative tech members for the following event:

In recognition of National Truth and Reconciliation Day on September 30, the First Nations Technology Council, Chastity Davis-Alphonse, and Shelley Joseph will be hosting an online industry-focused learning event called 'Canadian History Through an Indigenous Lens'. This takes place on September 30 from 10am-12pm and 30% of all the proceeds will be donated to the Orange Shirt Society. Through a generous sponsorship contribution in collaboration with the HR Tech Group, Klei Entertainment has made 100 seats available for DigiBC members. Do you work in BC's creative tech sector? Are you interested in taking part in this profound learning opportunity?
