Sustainable production efforts in British Columbia were formalized 10 years ago through the Reel Green initiative, a resource centre with a collection of best practices to help productions reduce their environmental impacts and improve their overall environmental footprint.
Reel Greenâ„¢ helps Canada’s motion picture industry unite to improve production practices and reduce environmental impacts through strategic collaboration with other municipalities, organizations, local vendors and committed ambassadors. Â

The Vancouver International Women in Film Festival (VIWFF) showcases an impressive line-up of short and feature-length films (narrative, documentary, experimental and animation) by established and emerging women filmmakers from around the world.
The five day celebration will take place from March 7th-11th, 2023 at the VIFF Centre in Vancouver and online from March 12-25, 2023. The festival will feature in-person screenings, receptions, filmmaker panels, and more. VIWFF will include 37 films from 14 countries, made up of 19 Canadian films — with 9 from local BC filmmakers. VIWFF 2023 is also proud to present an International Women’s Day Advocacy Panel on March 8th, featuring major players in diversity and inclusion efforts.
