The Forum, IDFA’s international co-financing and co-production market, is Europe's most important breeding ground for new documentary projects and an essential meeting place for filmmakers, television commissioning editors, documentary stakeholders and independent documentary producers. Every year, IDFA welcomes some 2,500 international documentary professionals in Amsterdam during eleven days of films, industry events, panel discussions and much more. All professionals with a serious and demonstrable interest in the documentary sector are welcome to attend, whether as an independent producer with a project, a commissioning editor, financier, sales agent, distributor or funder. It is also possible to register for attendance as an observer.
WHO CAN APPLY?
Creative BC will accept applications from BC resident documentary producers who meet the following criteria:
- Must have documentary projects with all, or partial, financing in place; and/or
- Must have documentary projects which are suitable for co-production opportunities; and
- Must have been selected to attend this event to pitch a project or participate as an Observer by the IDFA Forum organizers.
Creative BC will provide travel support for up to two BC residents for up to a maximum of $2,000 per person to offset market registration, travel and accommodation costs. Support is only available to one individual per company. For observer participants, their company cannot also be selected to pitch.

Applications will be reviewed competitively and producers will be notified via email of funding decisions.
