From Please to Thank You: Writing the Perfect Grant

The Workshop: This half-day session provides an interactive opportunity for participants to gain first hand knowledge from an experienced grant writer and fundraising strategist. Participants will be taken through the fundamentals of compiling the perfect grant, from writing styles and language to budgets and supplemental materials, with a particular emphasis on BC Arts Council examples. At the conclusion of the workshop, participants will have a practical understanding of where to find funding opportunities, how to align those sources with their needs, how to develop a perfect grant package, and how to take that grant package to the next step.

The Facilitator: Mary Ann S. Anderson is a Vancouver-based arts administrator who has worked in the local cultural community since 1989. Mary Ann has considerable experience in public fundraising, and in the development of fundraising plans; she was also responsible for the delivery of the North Vancouver municipal granting program working with 50+ arts organizations over the course of 12 years. Mary Ann is the founder of Little Dog Creative Consulting (2005), which has provided consulting services to over 75 clients in the areas of arts management, organizational planning, capacity building and public fundraising.

Cost: Members $35 / Non-members $75 (plus 5% GST)
