DOC BC, in collaboration with Creative BC and DOXA Documentary Film Festival, is thrilled to present three evens featuring world-renowned filmmaker Steve James on Saturday March 14. This will be rare chance for filmmakers and film fans to engage with one of the most critically acclaimed documentarians of our time.

Steve James is best known for directing Hoop Dreams, which was called “the great American documentary” by Robert Ebert and won every major critics prize. Some of his other celebrated films include Stevie, which won awards at Sundance, IDFA and landed on a dozen year-end ten best lists, and The Interrupters, winner of the Independent Spirit Award, the two top Cinema Eye Awards, an Emmy and numerous festival prizes. James’ most recent documentary Life Itself, about the life and work of Roger Ebert, was awarded Best Documentary by The Critics’ Choice Awards and The Producers Guild of America.
