There are two categories, one for middle schools and one for high schools. This year we've opened the competition to all students residing on Vancouver Island or the Gulf Islands. The winner in each category will receive a great prize and the winning films will be screened at one of our large downtown theatres alongside a Victoria Film Festival feature film!
Our aim is to educate and expose students to filmmaking and encourage motivated students to create a great film. To assist this endeavor, students will have access to a professional filmmaker as a resource to offer suggestions, feedback or even facilitate in finding props or locations.
Prizes include the following:
Grade 9 – 12: 27" iMac computer (provided by Aqua Irrigation Systems) and a year's subscription to Adobe Premiere and Creative Suite (Value: $3200) .
Grade 8 and under: To be determined. Will be announced when confirmed.
In addition, both films will be screened at the Victoria Film Festival.
