The Province of British Columbia and Creative BC look forward to welcoming SIGGRAPH 2018 attendees to Vancouver.

 
Alongside the regular SIGGRAPH programming, Creative BC will be
hosting a Speaker Series, Business Café, and is proud to be the exclusive
sponsor of the Business Symposium. These additional events provide
opportunities to engage with BC companies and learn more about the dynamic business community within British Columbia.
 
CREATIVE BC SPEAKER SERIES
Attend the Creative BC Speaker Series to learn more about opportunities within the creative sector in British Columbia. There is no cost to attend the Speaker Series; however, you must obtain an Exhibit-Only pass through the SIGGRAPH registration website (further registration details below).
Individual event sign-up is not required.
 
LEVERAGING INCENTIVES IN ANIMATION, VFX & FILM
With a focus on Animation, Visual Effects and Film, this session will provide information on how to leverage government programs as well as training and incentives, whether it be for a feature film, a TV series or a short format production.

Followed by a networking session at the International Center, from 4:30pm to 5:30pm

LEVERAGING INCENTIVES IN VR / AR

Discover the VR/AR ecosystem in British Columbia. See how companies can leverage existing government programs and incentives to maximize their resources and how VR/AR relates to the BC Interactive Digital Media Tax Credit (IDMTC).
 
Presenting Speakers: Joe Masi and Mark Wiebe, Ministry of Finance Followed by a networking session at the International Center, from 4pm to 5pm

INCLUSIVE RECRUITING

This panel brings together experts to discuss diversity in studio environments to promote a culture of inclusion and engagement. It will explore the innovative approaches studios are taking to increase diversity in the workplace and how they foster a sense of belonging and community.

Followed by a networking session at the International Center, from 11am to 12pm

CREATIVE BC BUSINESS CAFÉ

Drop by the Creative BC Business Café each morning for a coffee and light snack before your day and network with other international and local attendees. The Café will be staffed by local partners who will be available to answer questions about the business environment in BC.

BUSINESS SYMPOSIUM

Creative BC is proud to be the exclusive sponsor of the Business Symposium at SIGGRAPH. Returning to SIGGRAPH 2018, this two-day event will explore the intersection of technology, creativity, and business, examining the advances of the past and focusing on what the future looks like for CG and interactive techniques.

There is no cost to attend the Creative BC Speaker Series + Business Café, however, you must register for an Exhibit-Only pass. To attend the SIGGRAPH conference as a full delegate, registration is required.
