COVID-19 Update for the Creative Industries of BC
CREATIVE BC REMOTE WORK PLAN
This decision reflects our commitment to employee health and well-being. It is also our intent to proactively sustain service to industry by taking physical distancing measures available and appropriate to our organization’s day-to-day activities.
All financial and administrative functions will continue without disruption and we invite clients to contact staff directly by email or phone with inquiries.
COVID-19 CONTAINMENT MEASURES AFFECTING THE CREATIVE INDUSTRIES
· EVENT CANCELLATIONS: Event organizers are required to cancel any gathering in British Columbia with more than 50 people (view joint statement here). If your project or event has been affected by COVID-19, please complete our Impacts survey.
· TRAVEL RESTRICTIONS: Canadians are asked to avoid all travel outside of Canada and to suspend all non-essential travel within the province until further notice. Stay informed here.
· RETURN FROM TRAVEL PROTOCOL: For travelers who have returned to Canada, they are required to self-isolate for 14 days upon return.
· WORKPLACE AND BUSINESS RECOMMENDATIONS: Workplaces should implement physical distancing measures, please view the Ministry of Health webpage for information and latest updates as well as the BC Centre for Disease Control resources for Employers and Businesses. Any business or service that has not been ordered to close, and is also not identified on the essential service list, may stay open if it can adapt its services and workplace to the orders and recommendations of the PHO. Guidance for those businesses that choose to remain open can be found here.

For all projects, events, activities and initiatives that are cancelled or postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Creative BC will work with you to determine the best course of action. Creative BC staff will be in contact with you in the coming days to discuss your situation.
Here is Creative BC's policy regarding cancellations of events and activities due to the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic.
a. Non-recoverable expenses for cancelled or postponed activities will be covered. Recipients will be asked to claim these expenses through a final report.
b. Program deadlines have been extended to provide flexibility to recipients, and changes to project timelines will be allowed.
c. Funding recipients may request to replace a funded activity that is no longer going forward with another activity eligible through the program.
