Creative BC and the Canadian Media Producers Association (CMPA) - BC Producers Branch will provide funding for the skills development of professionals committed to careers in writing for dramatic television.
Applications will be evaluated on a first come, first served basis until the budget has been fully committed for the fiscal year.
The program is open to Canadian television production companies to support the costs of hiring BC residents to work in story departments on productions confirmed for broadcast as a series on network television or VOD platform.
If you do not already have a confirmed Mentor at the time of application, placement is not automatically guaranteed. However, should you meet the eligibly criteria, Creative BC will work with you on a best effort basis to facilitate a suitable placement.
The internships are capped at a maximum of $10,000 per placement which is equal to 20 weeks.
No, Mentor Production Companies can be a CMPA member and WGC IPA signatory company with story rooms located across Canada.
No. All costs associated with travel and living expenses are covered by the Writer-Intern.
- Yes, there will be a credit granted because you will be getting a WGC contract, and it requires a credit. The actual title will be negotiated with the Production, though it can be in the form of Associate Story Editor, or Assistant Story Editor
