British Columbia at Cannes Film Festival 2022

As Canada’s largest and North America’s third-largest, full-service motion picture production hub in North America, British Columbia is proud of its international reputation and proven track record for providing exceptional value for the producer’s dollar. With...

With a reputation for excellence in film, Canada is a valuable partner in co-production, holding bi-lateral agreements with close to 60 countries.

The official co-production agreements enable Canadian producers and their foreign counterparts to pool their creative, artistic, technical and financial resources to co-produce films and television programs that enjoy the status of national productions in each of the countries concerned.

Co-productions are a key component of Canadian film and television production. British Columbia production companies are very active in co-productions, which enable them to penetrate new markets and attract additional project financing. Dynamic local production companies offer international partners creative quality, competitive financing and an abundance of opportunity.

Together, Telefilm, Canadian Media Producers Association (CMPA) and Creative BC actively support partnerships and are the first point of call to bridge nations and forge connections.
