2016 TECHNICAL AND SCIENTIFIC ACHIEVEMENT AWARDS

David McIntosh, Steve Marshall Smith, Mike Branham and Mike Kirilenko of Aircover Inflatables, in North Vancouver, were also recognized and will receive a Scientific and Technical Achievement Award for the engineering and development of the Air Wall.

The Air Wall was developed as a safer and more environmental alternative to a conventional green screen, can be deflated and inflated in minutes and is also easily transportable in specially adapted trailers. This system of modular inflatable panels can be erected on location, at lengths reaching hundreds of feet, with exceptional speed and safety. When used to support blue or green screens, the Airwall permits composite shots of unprecedented scale.

The Air Wall has been used in many films including the X-Men Apocalypse, Godzilla, Tomorrowland and Pirates of the Carribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales.
