Doing Better in 2019

Jun 2, 2019

We all need to do better in 2019 for the betterment of the world. Need some tips on how to do it? Click to read more.

We all need to do a little better in 2019 when it comes to the environment and protecting the planet that we live on, love and enjoy.

Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change report came out in October 2018 which was picked up by all major news outlets such as BBC, CNN, The New York Times, and other prominent agencies such as National Geographic. Climate Change is here and the effects to date will leave a lasting, permanent, geological legacy on our planet.

There is still time, however! If habits change and the global community can unite, we can combat Climate Change’s adverse impacts for our feature generations to thrive. With a sizeable carbon footprint, the motion picture industry has some catching up to do to play its part. But it can happen! Change is already in motion with the resurgence of Reel Green by Creative BC, the Green Production Guide, the Sustainable Production Forum, new tools and resources becoming available such as electric car technology and portable batteries.

The Province of BC also released it’s Clean BC plan at the end of 2018 which aims to reduce emissions in several areas for the province.

Still foggy on how to make a difference? Join Reel Green in its mission to enable the evolution and implementation of sustainable practices in the motion picture industry to contribute to the betterment of the world.

What can you do?

Here’s to a better and greener 2019!
