The Equity and Emerging Development Program will deliver $200,000 targeted to emerging and equity-seeking B.C. filmmakers. Creators can get a grant of up to $10,000 to cover the cost of bringing together a development team to do research, develop a concept or write a script. The grants are available for a wide range of content including feature films, television shows, series, documentaries and animated content.
The goal of this program is to support equity and diversity in B.C.’s domestic motion picture sector by increasing access to funding for underrepresented filmmakers. Administered by Creative BC, this is the first program launched under the Domestic Motion Picture Fund, the Province of British Columbias additional $2-million investment in the domestic motion picture industry.
